Arlene Phillips admits having Botox

Arlene Phillips admits having Botox
Published on September 28, 2010, Daily Mail

The BBC sparked public outrage when they replaced former Strictly Come Dancing judge, Arlene Phillips, with younger model Alesha Dixon, 31, in a move that has seen Arlene described by the Daily Mail as the poster girl for anti-ageism in television.
However, speaking to New magazine, Arlene has revealed that simply being on television has made her worry about her lines and wrinkles enough to turn to non surgical solutions such as Botox.
Known for her trim dancer’s figure and the way she gracefully side-stepped the furore caused by her removal from Strictly, many may be surprised that dancer, choreographer and TV personality has turned to dermal fillers.
“It’s hard being on show all the time because every time you’re on TV it’s like looking in the mirror and you look for every crease, every line, every drop.
“I’ve already had Botox,” the star candidly admits, adding, “A lot of my friends are now having baby Botox”.
And despite personally finding Botox injections a little uncomfortable, Arlene is keen to try baby Botox – a non surgical procedure that sees tiny amounts of Botox injected into the skin, leaving wrinkles plumped whilst little affecting facial expressions.
“Apparently it doesn’t hurt,” Arlene explained, “so as soon as I get some time, baby Botox here I come.”
Arlene has also admitted that she is keen to try cosmetic surgery too, saying “One day I am going to go in and say, ‘Start at the ankles and don’t stop until you have got to the top’”.
